Hoi An is a charming city in central Vietnam that is known for its well-preserved ancient town, beautiful beaches, and delicious food. I chose to celebrate my birthday here! Let’s dive into my experience!

First Impressions of Hoi An

As I arrived in Hoi An, I was immediately struck by the city’s beauty. The architecture is a mix of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese styles, which creates a unique and captivating atmosphere.

After walking across the bridge from my hotel on the other side of the river and found this red interesting shape lantern.

Exploring the Ancient Town

Exploring the ancient town was one of the highlights of my trip to Hoi An. The streets are lined with colorful lanterns, and the buildings are ornately carved and decorated.

I went to the Japanese Covered Bridge, the Assembly Hall of the Fujian Chinese Congregation, and the Quan Cong Temple, among other historical sites in town.

Walking through town felt like stepping back in time. The pace of life is slower here, and the atmosphere is peaceful and calm. I also enjoyed browsing the many shops and stalls selling everything from handcrafted souvenirs to tailored clothing.

Eating Delicious Food

Vietnamese cuisine is known for its vibrant colors, bold flavors, and fresh ingredients. My trip to Hoi An did not leave me hungry! I tried many delicious dishes with vegetables that I can’t remember the name of, as well as a few different types of noodle dishes that are unique to Hoi An.

Relaxing on the Beach

Of course, no trip to Hoi An would be complete without spending some time on the beach. I went to An Bang Beach, which is known for its clear blue waters and white sandy beaches. I sat on a beach chair, sipped a cold drink, and watched the waves roll in.

Conclusion

My birthday trip to Hoi An was a fantastic way to celebrate. I spent my time exploring the ancient town, eating delicious food, and relaxing on the beach. I was also impressed by the warmth and hospitality of the Vietnamese people, who made my stay unforgettable. Hoi An is a city with something for everyone, and I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
